Preparations are being made for 2018's Camp Hands of Joy! We are looking forward to our camp sessions: June 21-24 for younger campers and June 25-30 for the older group. Would you like to join us? Contact #585-455-0948
We are well underway with camp preparations for this June 1-10, 2017!
The team looks very different this year. We will be missing some of our dearest members of the past but getting back some dear members from the past too! And thank you to all who are donating and have already donated to make camp a reality.
God is faithful to provide in every way.
We are going back to our roots, so to speak, by having our camp back at the first one I ever experienced; Bonao. Hopefully there are screens on the windows now as we all pray to remain uninfected by biting mosquitoes. As always I ask for prayer for the team's safety while out of the states.
Above all I ask for your prayers regarding the hearts and minds of the children we have with us from around the country. Pray that our dramas, teachings and time with the campers is fruitful for the Lord.
Speaking of fruit, that is what our theme for the week is, Fruit of the Spirit. It is a difficult concept to get across but we know the Lord goes before us in all of our efforts so we have confidence in what we present to them. But please pray that we remain true to His Word in all we do in His name.
In His service, for His glory,
The team of Hands of Joy
"Immerse yourself. This is how you learn"
Proverbs 28 says that those who give will lack nothing, and that's never been more true than for those who know the joy of giving of themselves, their time, and talents to children. Join us in the many needs for this year's camp. You can:
Camp Hands of Joy will be held this year from June 14th-23rd.
Keep in mind that because of legal restrictions in the DR, the camp will be divided by age this year. The early part of the week will be for the older children. The remainder will be for older teens and young adults.
We'll be returning to the same campground as last year.
Preparations for this summer's camp are well under way. Camp Hands of Joy 2015 will be held June 14-20. The rented campgrounds are in Juan Dolio, about an hour east of Santo Domingo. Contact us if you are interested in supporting this year's camp by coming along.
Hands of Joy is an organization of Christians dedicated to initiating and furthering the understanding of the gospel in the lives and minds of deaf children of the Caribbean.
We have two areas of focus: to facilitate a yearly summer camp experience in a rural setting and to have a direct and active role in the schools for the deaf in that region. Our desire is to communicate to the deaf children of the Caribbean the life-changing power of Jesus Christ in a practical and real way; to develop them into responsible, productive, successful Christians; and equip them to become a part of God's family in order to magnify His name.
